A speed display sign was placed on State Street in Rush Township Wednesday, according to a state Department of Transportation press release.
The placement is to raise awareness of the 35-mile-per-hour speed limit in the area and attempt to curb aggressive driving. According to PennDOT, aggressive driving behaviors were listed as a crash cause in more than 57 percent of Centre County crashes last year.
The sign faces south on the road and uses radar to determine the speed of oncoming traffic.
