The second annual Patriotic Rosary sponsored by the Altoona-Johnstown Diocesan Catholic Daughters of the Americas will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 1 Cathedral Square, Altoona. The Most Rev. Bishop Mark Bartchak will preside.
The purpose of the Patriotic Rosary event is for believers to seek divine guidance and discernment for the Catholic faith community and to exercise the vote for leaders who will uphold religious freedom. Local elected officials from several counties within the diocese will read the words from political leaders of the past, including George Washington, John Adams, James Iredell and Gen. Robert E. Lee.
