District Attorney Parks Miller wins re-election unopposed

Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller cruised to an easy re-election Tuesday in what was the most high profile of a number of uncontested races.

Parks Miller, who was unopposed, tallied more than 15,000 votes in the general election Tuesday in her bid for a second term as the county’s top prosecutor.

She previously said her plans, if re-elected, were to “build on our proven record of successful, smart prosecutions.”

Parks Miller, who took office in 2010, has successfully tried high-profile cases including the Mirinda Boob-Ronald Heichel murder trial, and the trial for three eastern European men who went on a violent burglary and robbery spree in 2009 and 2010 in the Centre Region.

Several other municipal races in Centre County were uncontested, meaning the winners of the May municipal primaries won their seats outright in November, according to unofficial election results Tuesday night.
