Tides, a local grief support program for children, teens and their families who have lost a loved one, is encouraging residents to dress in blue on Thursday to support those who are grieving and to remember loved ones who have passed.
When a child or teen loses someone they love, they learn quickly that life is not forever, life is not always fair, and that bad things can happen to young people, too, according to a Tides news release. Children’s Grief Awareness Day, a nationwide effort on Thursday, provides an opportunity to support children, teens and their families who have experienced death first hand, whether it be a parent, grandparent, sibling, friend or pet.
