A date for the next installment of the Penn State student-created drinking holiday has been announced.
State Patty’s Day 2014 is set for March 1 in State College, according to a public Facebook event page. The day has become known for arrests and destructive behavior since its inception in 2007.
More than 750 people were listed as attending by Sunday evening.
State College police Lt. Mark Argiro said he expects similar police enforcement to last year. Bars were paid to close, and he said that was helpful because the officers could put more effort toward breaking up parties and patrolling on the streets.
