An Altoona man was arrested Sunday evening after shooting at police from his 6th Avenue home.
Residents alerted Altoona police to the home of Michael John Turiano for reports of shots fired. Police arrived to Turiano’s home at 6:35 p.m., set up a perimeter and advised neighbors of the situation, according to police.
Turiano then came out his home and opened fire on police, shooting several rounds, police said. No one was injured.
Police said they were able to call Turiano on his phone and talked him into surrendering. He was arrested without incident, and his home was searched after a warrant was granted, police said.
