A Lackawanna County man escaped injury after one of several crashes in the area that state police responded to Monday during snowy weather.

Police said William Booth, 49, was heading west about 9 a.m. when he exited the interstate, but his 2012 Honda Pilot slid off the road, across the median and onto the onramp. The SUV hit a guardrail, and the impact caused major damage on the vehicle’s left side.

On the Benner Pike, a Bellefonte woman lost control of her vehicle and hit a ditch around 10 a.m. Police said Marina Elnitski, 74, was not injured, but her 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada had to be towed from the scene.

Police said a vehicle crashed into a fence along state Route 15 in Boggs Township right before 6 a.m. The driver was not identified and was not injured.
