Community Help Centre in State College will have its referral service hotline funded by Centre County government for another year.
The Board of Commissioners unanimously passed a contract renewal at its meeting Tuesday to cover the expenses. The $45,000 contract runs through the end of the year.
Volunteers and staff from the hotline provide information in categories such as shelter, food, support groups, and rental assistance and on specific agencies, Centre County Adult Services Director Natalie Corman said. The hotline number is 800-494-2500.
“Individuals can call this number and get a lot of their questions answered, especially when it comes to human services needs,” she said.

The program is largely run through volunteers with help from other agencies.
