Despite chill, Centre County temperatures more seasonable through week

It wasn’t exactly record-breaking cold Tuesday morning, but the overnight low did reach a chilly 7 degrees.

Weather forecasters said Monday that there was a chance temperatures in Centre County could reach 1 degree below zero. That would have tied a record going back to 1943.

But despite the frigid start to the week, temperatures by the week’s end should be more seasonable. According to AccuWeather.com, Wednesday’s high temperature should reach freezing, with an overnight low at 14.

On Thursday, the day’s high will be 32 with a low of 22, and Friday, a high of 42 and low of 30 is expected, according to AccuWeather. Saturday will be cooler with a high of 40 and a low of 26, according to AccuWeather.

The average high temperature for March is 46 and average low is 28 degrees, According to AccuWeather. So far this month, the average high was 29 and the average low 10 degrees.
