A Bellefonte woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash Sunday.
State police at Rockview said that Sarah Catherine Gardner, 26, was driving on Jacksonville Road in Marion Township at about 4:30 a.m. when she drove off the road while traveling at 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. The 1991 Chevrolet S-10 pickup struck an embankment, went airborne for 20 feet, struck another embankment and rolled partially over. The truck made a third impact, hitting its roof and striking a utility pole.
Gardner had to be extricated from the vehicle by rescue personnel and was transported by medical helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville with moderate injuries.
Police were assisted at the scene by Howard, Logan and Undine fire companies, as well as Bellefonte EMS and fire police. The road was closed for about two hours.
