Sounds concert offers sober fun as fundraiser

Sounds is hosting a concert Saturday to both bring sober entertainment to downtown and help raise money for the new nonprofit organization.

Founder Misha Cleveland said that Sounds was created early last year as a way to offer the public a late-night and alcohol-free venue that combines live music with people who want to have a safe and enjoyable time.

“We are convinced that our mission provides something that has been missing for our community’s young people,” she said.

The “Rock Your Art Out” event from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday will be held at the Fairmount Avenue Building Auditorium, 154 W. Nittany Ave. Admission is $5 at the door.

It will feature live entertainment from nine local bands and musicians, and local artists will display and sell their work.
