U.S. Representative Glenn Thompson, R-Howard Township, was recognized Wednesday with the 2014 Star of Education Award for his work in demonstrating leadership and dedication regarding Career and Technical Education issues, according to a news release.
Both Thompson and U.S. Rep. Jim Langevin were presented the awards at the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium. The two serve as co-chairmen of the bipartisan Congressional Career & Technical Education Caucus.
“It’s a distinct honor to receive the Star of Education Award,” Thompson said in the release. “I want to thank the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium for their work to expand and improve career and technical programming across the country.”
The award ceremony took place Wednesday in Washington, D.C.
