Police: Man suffering cardiac arrest crashes near Mount Nittany Medical Center

A Dodge Dakota went off the road and slid 43 feet, coming to rest against a tree after the 66-year-old driver went into cardiac arrest near the intersection of East Park Avenue and Hospital Drive on Tuesday, State College police said.

Bryant Musser, of Centre Hall, was driving north on Hospital Drive when the medical emergency occurred and the vehicle traveled across East Park Avenue and down an embankment, police said. He was removed from the vehicle by a witness who began CPR.

The crash occurred at 10:16 a.m., police said.

Centre LifeLink EMS arrived to continue resuscitation efforts and to transport Musser to Mount Nittany Medical Center. Police said it appeared that Musser had suffered the medical emergency before the crash, and he did not sustain noticeable injuries from the crash.

No other vehicles were involved, police said, and the crash scene was cleared by 11:15 a.m.
