Man pleads guilty in drug case tied to death
A State College man pleaded guilty Monday to charges of possession with intent to deliver connected to the death of another man.
Erik Speight, 44, entered his plea before Centre County Judge Jonathan D. Grine. In additon to the felony possession charge, he admitted to one count of persons not to possess a firearm, also a felony. He will be sentenced July 7.
The charges stem from an incident in October 2013 when police responded to a home on Douglas Drive in Patton Township for a call of two unresponsive males, one of whom was not breathing. Speight and the other male were reported to have been drinking and doing drugs. The other man was pronounced dead at the scene.
