Two people were taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center after a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Patton Township.

Township police said Daniel Laplante, of State College, was turning left from North Atherton Street onto Colonnade Boulevard at 1:53 p.m. when he pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Mi Kyeong Park, of Port Matilda.

After Park’s vehicle was struck, it traveled off the road into a traffic light control box, which caused the light to lose power. Laplante and Park were taken to Mount Nittany by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic at the intersection had to be directed for several hours while temporary repairs were performed on the signal box.

Police were assisted at the scene by Alpha fire police, Centre LifeLink EMS, the state Department of Transportation and township Public Works.
