Two motorcyclists suffered moderate injuries Saturday when their motorcycle slid off the roadway to avoid a deer on South Eagle Valley Road in Worth Township.
Eric R. Crawford, 44, of Blanchard, was driving his Harley-Davidson motorcycle at 6:17 p.m. with his passenger, Jennifer Bardo, 44, also of Blanchard, when a deer ran out into the road. Crawford told state police at Philipsburg the whitetail leaped right in front of the motorcycle, and he slid the bike on its side, nearly 300 feet, to avoid the animal. The bike hit a guardrail on the side of the road, about 300 feet from Skytop Mountain Road, police said.
Crawford and Bardo were taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center by Port Matilda EMS. No charges were filed.
