A 20-year-old man was transported by EMS to Mount Nittany Medical Center early Saturday morning after an altercation with another man.
Lt. Mark Argiro said the victim was walking near LionHeart Fitness on Sowers Street when a man pushed the victim into a light pole at 1:57 a.m.
The victim, a 20-year-old visitor from Monroe, N.Y., sustained a severe cut to his ear, resulting in stitches, Argiro said.
A witness told police the suspect pushed the victim because he thought the victim had slapped a sandwich out of his friend's hand, Argiro said.
A friend of the victim told police that they took a photo of the suspect, Argiro said.
Police are investigating the incident.
