State police report Rush Township gun theft

State police reported Tuesday that they are investigating the theft of seven long guns from a Rush Township residence between Aug. 24 and Aug. 31.

Police said someone broke in to the Dale Road home of a 62-year-old man and took the guns from a gun cabinet. Stolen were a 16-gauge double barrel shotgun, a 12-gauge double barrel shotgun, a 12-gauge Mossberg pump shotgun, a Remington 30-06 Pump 760 Gamemaster rifle, an over and under .222 20-gauge shotgun, a Marlin 30-30 Model 336 lever action rifle and a .22-caliber bolt-action rifle with blued barrel.

The estimated value of the guns is $3,025.
