Plan ahead: PSU Homecoming parade route, forecast

The weather is expected to be mild with clear skies when the Penn State Homecoming parade steps off at 6 p.m. Friday on the University Park campus.

Temperatures will be in the mid- to upper 60s, and, unlike last year, no rain is in the forecast, according to the National Weather Service.

The parade will start in the parking lots at the intersection of Porter and Curtin roads and travel across Curtin, then south on Bigler Road; west on Pollock Road; south on Shortlidge Road; west on College Avenue; and north on Burrowes Road, ending at Pollock.

Streets along the route will be closed to vehicle traffic from about 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and parking along the route will be restricted.
