Trucker taken to hospital after Saturday accident in Boalsburg

Police responded to a tractor-trailer accident at about 6:40 p.m. Saturday along the 200 block of Boal Avenue in Boalsburg, according to a police report.

Police said the truck, driven by Richard O’Bara, of Ludington, Mich., was weaving to the right of the roadway or going off the right side. It came to a stop at the top of a hill on Boal, then began rolling backward, police said, striking a vehicle driven by Justin Bierly, of Port Matilda.

The truck then jack-knifed and struck a vehicle driven by Maria Martinez, of Sinking Spring, police said. The trailer then broke through a fence off the roadway, lifting the rear wheels of the truck off the ground.

O’Bara was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center. No other injuries were reported.
