State College police have released the identities of the drivers involved in a crash that closed a portion of U.S. Route 322 on Friday.

Brian Hinz, 40, of Lapeer, Mich., was driving the vehicle, a Jeep, that initially made contact with a tractor-trailer operated by Victor Gonvalves, 54, of Lorain, Ohio, the report said. The impact sheared axles from the trailer, which then swung into the other lane of traffic and hit a Dodge Neon driven by Brian Sward, 49, of Lewistown, according to the report.

Hinz and Sward were hospitalized and no further information is available on their conditions. An accident reconstruction team is investigating, State College police said.
