Four Penn State football players cited after egg-throwing incident

Four Penn State football players were charged with criminal mischief after they reportedly egged a campus building Thursday night.

Wendy Laurent, Anthony Smith, Garrett Sickels and Brent Wilkerson received citations from the incident that took place between 10:36 p.m. and 11:18 p.m. at Beaver Hall. A student reported the damage, according to Penn State police.

Laurent, a junior second-string center, came into the Ohio State game Oct. 25 in the fourth quarter after starter Donovan Smith was injured.

Anthony Smith, a sophomore safety, is a seldom-used reserve. Sickels, a sophomore defensive end, and Wilkerson, a junior tight end, have not played in a game.

Penn State head coach James Franklin did not say Friday whether the players would be disciplined or what punishments they might face. The Nittany Lions play Maryland at noon Saturday at home.
