Howard man killed in crash

State College police are investigating a one-vehicle crash that killed a Howard man early Sunday.

The crash occurred on the 3600 block of East College Avenue, police said, and was not reported until after daybreak, when motorists noticed the vehicle about 20 yards off the road.

Ryan Wagner, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene by Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers.

The preliminary investigation shows that the vehicle was traveling east when it left the road and hit a tree, according to police. The exact time of the crash is unknown and anyone with information is asked to contact police at 234-7150.

Sayers said in a news release Sunday that an autopsy had been completed and that Wagner died of blunt force trauma. The death has been ruled accidental.
