Two people were transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center on Friday afternoon after a two vehicle accident in Harris Township.

State College police Lt. Greg Brauser said a vehicle traveling east on U.S. Route 322 crossed over the center line and into westbound traffic, and hit an oncoming vehicle at about 1:30 p.m. The wreck occurred near where the road splits into U.S. 322 Business and the Mount Nittany Expressway.

The driver of the westbound vehicle was transported to the hospital by ambulance for a foot and leg injury, while the passenger reported a headache, Brauser said. The driver of the eastbound vehicle refused treatment.

Brauser said Route 322 was closed for less than an hour.

Both vehicles were removed by Tennis Towing.

The state Department of Transportation, Centre LifeLink and Boalsburg Fire Company assisted police at the scene.

Brauser said police are still investigating the cause of the crash, and added that more information would be available Saturday.
