State College police investigate dog’s death

State College police are investigating a case of a dog that died earlier this week after its owners left it outside.

Lt. Mark Argiro said police were contacted on Friday afternoon after several people overheard a 9-year-old at a school bus stop say his dog died after it was left outside at a home on Campbell Drive.

Police said while the parents were working, the children let the dog out and forgot to bring him back in.

Argiro said the family has no history of animal cruelty, and will consult with the Centre County District Attorney’s Office to see if charges will be filed.
