A fire of unknown origin destroyed a tractor-trailer Monday at Hanover Food Corp. in Centre Hall.

The fire call came in around 10:45 a.m., Centre Hall Fire Chief Philip Orndorf said. By the time fire crews arrived, the cab was fully engulfed.

Crews used water and foam to quickly subdue the fire, he said. Although, he said, he has no idea what caused the fire, no investigation is planned.

“It wasn’t as bad as the truck fire on 322,” he said, referring to a tractor-trailer fire that closed U.S. Route 322 for several hours on Feb. 10.
