An accident in Spring Township left two women injured Tuesday afternoon.

Brittany Alterio, 27, of Julian, was traveling south on state Route 144, near Log Cabin Motors, and stopped to make a left turn onto Allegheny Street, according to Spring Township police. Alterio’s vehicle was hit from behind by a pickup truck driven by Lindsey Beran, 18, of Bellefonte, police said. The impact pushed Alterio’s vehicle into the oncoming lane of traffic, where she was hit by another truck driven by Heather Griffis, 38, of Jersey Shore, police said.

Alterio and Beran were taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment.

Undine and Logan fire companies and Bellefonte EMS also responded.
