Winter Weather Advisory issued for Centre County

The first day of spring will feel more like winter Friday, with as much as 6 inches of snow in the forecast for Centre County.

The National Weather Service office in State College has issued a winter weather advisory from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. The forecast calls for 4 to 6 inches of snow.

The heaviest snow will fall in the morning hours and taper off, from west to east, by evening, according to the weather service.

Spring officially begins at 6:45 p.m. Friday.

Temperatures on Friday will reach the mid-30s and the snow may not stick around with temperatures near 50 by Saturday.
