Centre Foundation to launch new teen program

Centre Foundation has a new program called Centre PACT — Philanthropic Actions Created by Teens — that will launch later this year.

And the organization is looking for local high school students interested in making an impact in their community.

PACT is an interactive program to make students into leaders and enhance other professional skills, according to a news release from Centre Foundation.

“Centre PACT will be a great vehicle for students from across the county to come together, discuss issues facing their peer group, learn about potential solutions that nonprofits offer, and ultimately fund the proactive program that they think will be most effective,” Centre Foundation Executive Director Molly Kunkel said in a statement. “This is a student-driven, hands-on, community-focused group that will learn a lot about Centre County, each other and themselves.”

Centre Foundation is a nonprofit that financially helps other local philanthropic agencies.

Applications are available at, with an April 3 deadline.
