Jennifer Shuey announced Friday that she will be the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts’ director of development.
Shuey announced two weeks ago she would resign as executive director of the ClearWater Conservancy, a position she held for 15 years. ClearWater President Steve Miller will be the interim executive director until a replacement is named.
Shuey will start working for arts fest April 27, but she’s begun to get her feet wet in her new role.
“I haven’t had time to dive into it yet, but I’ve skimmed the budget and have gone over with (executive director) Rick (Bryant) what we’ll be doing,” she said.
Her responsibilities will include raising money to fund the festival and First Night on New Year’s Eve. She will also recruit sponsors, attract more supporters to the festival and “tell the arts festival story.”
“I’m sure it be different and be a change from what I’ve done before,” Shuey said. “I’m looking forward to things I’ve had to delegate to others before, like communications and doing e-newsletters.”
Arts Fest is up her alley.
“It’s another one of my passions I get to fulfill,” she said.
