David Letterman did not get a boost for his Spice Cream from the investors on Food Network’s “Food Fortunes” on Monday night, but it wasn’t because they didn’t like it.

The audience overwhelmingly responded positively to the ice cream blended with his Bonfatto’s fruity hot wing sauces, and most of the judges were impressed. Even the one judge who claimed not to like it admitted that he couldn’t stop eating it.

But when it came to putting up a $75,000 investment for a 20 percent stake, none of them took a bite, although they did see potential if the packaging was streamlined. One was enthusiastic about growing the profile of the hot sauces before pushing the ice creams.
