Some of the people suspected by State College police, Ferguson Township police and law enforcement agencies outside of the region of using fraudulent ATM cards to withdraw funds from local banks have been arrested in Virginia, according to State College police.
Three men were apprehended by the Spotsylvania County sheriffs earlier this week, police said. They were reportedly engaged in similar fraudulent activity there, police said.
The perpetrators used cloned ATM cards locally at Santander Bank, 216 W. College Ave.; First National Bank, 116 Hiester St. and 117 S. Allen St.; and PNC Bank, 1409 N. Atherton St., police said. Other police departments in Pennsylvania and other states are also looking to press charges against the suspects, according to police.
The trio could face theft, receiving stolen property, access device fraud and other charges, according to police.
