Today’s photo is from Joan Brower.
This image is from a 1907 postcard. It shows people awaiting the score of a football game between Penn State and Cornell.
The crowd is gathered at the intersection of College Avenue and South Allen Street, which at that time were both dirt roads. Behind the crowd is the old entrance to the university. The two-story building on the left is now The Corner Room.
That year, Penn State beat Cornell on Oct. 19 by a score of 8-6 and ended the season with a 6-4 record. The coach was Tom Fennell.
