Police said Wednesday they are looking for information on the driver of a newer blue or black SUV. Police say the vehicle ran off the roadway around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday near the State College Friends School on University Drive.

According to a police news release, “a witness indicated the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, left the roadway and struck a road sign causing damage and then left the scene.”

Police say the driver was a white man wearing a white dress shirt. The vehicle’s windshield was damaged by the sign.
