An accident between a vehicle and an emergency medical SUV disrupted traffic Tuesday in College Township.
According to State College police, Trevor Harbst, 30, of Tyrone, was leaving State College at 7:40 p.m. heading east on East Park Avenue. While waiting to make a left turn onto the Interstate 99 south on-ramp, a vehicle in front of him made a U-turn.
Harbst said he was watching the vehicle turning, police said, and turned into approaching traffic. He was struck by an Advance Life Support SUV driven by Evan Ripka, 21, of Lock Haven.
Ripka said he and his passenger, Guadalupe Martinez, 50, of Bellefonte, were returning to Mount Nittany Medical Center from Bellefonte when he saw Harbst turning in front of him and didn’t have time to stop, police said.
