Bedford County man considers challenge to Sen. Wozniak

Bedford County native Dwight Winck announced Tuesday that he is considering tossing his hat into the ring and challenging state Sen. John Wozniak, D-Westmont, in the 2016 election.

Wozniak’s district covers Bedford, Cambria and part of Clearfield counties, including portions of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District.

Winck said he is a strong advocate of protecting religious liberty and is pro-life, pro-family and pro-Second Amendment. He also believes in returning the Pennsylvania legislators to part-time status.

“We have the largest full-time legislature in the country and one of the highest paid, and I think that needs to change,” he said. “We used to have a part-time legislature until 1968. If Texas doesn’t have a full-time legislature then why do we need one?”
