A Dunmore man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident Saturday in State College, police said Wednesday in a press release.
According to police, officers responded to the accident at about 1:40 a.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of South Atherton Street. A silver, four-door Audi was observed sitting in the middle of the southbound lanes.
The driver, Domenick DiLella, 23, was discovered in the driver’s seat, police said. All airbags had been deployed, and a portion of his left arm was missing. He was removed from the vehicle by EMS and taken to Community Field where he was then flown to UPMC Altoona.
A witness said he heard the impact of the vehicle and saw it spin around, but didn’t recall seeing its headlights on, police said. Alcohol was suspected, police said, and results of a blood test are pending.
