Centre County dispatchers reported an automatic fire alarm at Toftrees Resort at about 3:40 p.m. Thursday, and an Alpha Fire Company unit discovered a building fire upon arrival.
Firefighters initially observed smoke billowing from the resort’s tower, though flames soon broke out, according to Alpha Assistant Chief Shawn Kauffman.
Firefighters from multiple fire companies were dispatched to the scene, where the fire was put out from within the building, Kauffman said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and Kauffman is not aware of any injuries.
