Bellefonte bakery and dessert shop set to close by the end of the year
A Bellefonte bakery and dessert shop plans to close by the end of December.
The Cakery is set to close its storefront at 105 N. Potter St. after more than two years in business, owner Melissa Stitzer wrote on Facebook.
“We have loved being a part of this beautiful town, as well as your special occasions and daily treat stops,” Stitzer wrote. “Many of you have become great friends, which has been the icing on the cake!”
It was not immediately clear why the business planned to close.
“Many things have factored into this decision, but we are very proud of The Cakery and how we have evolved over the years,” Stitzer wrote.
The Cakery’s first storefront was at 135 W. High St. before making the move across Spring Creek. The business sells specialty cakes, cupcakes and other pastries.
