Shaner Hotel Holdings recently announced that former Marriott International operations and marketing executive Lisa Larson has been named senior vice president of operations for the company’s Select Service Hotels Division.

Larson has more than 25 years of senior management experience in hotel operations, sales and marketing, and her operations responsibilities at Shaner Hotels will include the company’s Select Service sales, marketing, e-commerce and revenue management for Shaner’s portfolio. She will be based at Shaner’s headquarters in State College.

Larson most recently served in a senior leadership role with Texas Western Hospitality, which comprises Marriott and Hilton brand hotels in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona and North Carolina.

Kish Bank announced Doug Baxter’s promotion to vice president and accounting and controls manager.

Baxter’s career at Kish began in 2010 as an accounting specialist. He transitioned to accounting manager in 2012, was promoted to assistant vice president and assistant controller in 2013 and then to profitability manager in 2014. Baxter previously held the position of fund portfolio accountant at OFI Institutional Asset Management in Bellefonte.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Centre County, Mount Nittany Health, announced two new governing board members.

Charlene Friedman, a longtime resident of Centre County, is chief financial officer for Friedman Real Estate Group. Friedman has more than 40 years of experience in leadership, business, and child development and psychology.

Friedman has served in leadership roles with Smart Start Centre County, the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County and the State College Area Food Bank. She currently serves on the M&T Bank Regional Advisory Board and is an active member of the Pennsylvania Early Learning Investment Commission.

Thomas Poole is vice president for administration at Penn State. He also served as associate to the president for administration, associate vice provost for educational equity, director of Penn State’s Center for Ethics and Religious Affairs, director of student activities and acting director of student unions.

Poole is an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church, a Fellow of the Society for Values in Higher Education and a member of several other national professional organizations.
