Abercrombie and Fitch to shut doors in State College by end of 2015

It is unclear when Abercrombie and Fitch will close, but its time in State College will run out later this year.

The clothing retailer company has shrunk its presence over the past few years in the United States, closing about 300 stores since 2010.

Abercrombie and Fitch vice president of investor relations Brian Logan announced last year that the company would close about 60 more stores this year in the U.S. “through natural lease expirations.”

The lease for the Abercrombie and Fitch storefront at 134 S. Allen St. will be available in December, according to a listing by Industrial Commercial Realty.

The storefront has 9,183 square feet of space and is available for $12,750 per month.

A manager at the store, who declined to be identified, told the Centre Daily Times last month that the store would not close.

The company’s corporate office has not returned requests for comment.
