Centre County adds 6 cases of COVID-19, while Pennsylvania has 735 new positives
Centre County on Tuesday added six new cases of COVID-19, according to the state Department of Health.
The county has reported 399 cases since March 20; 359 cases are confirmed and 40 are probable, according to the DOH. There have been 40 cases reported since Aug. 5.
Centre County has had 10,830 negative tests, while the Keystone State has reported 1.35 million negative tests and an estimated 79% recovery rate.
Pennsylvania’s case total increased Tuesday by 735 to 125,579. Thirty-one deaths were reported Tuesday, bringing the state’s tally to 7,499. The DOH reports 11 deaths in Centre County.
A long-term care facility in Centre County reported its first resident case on Tuesday, according to the DOH. There are now cases among 34 residents and 22 employees at seven nursing and personal care homes. Of the county’s 11 COVID-19-related deaths, the DOH says eight have come from long-term care facilities.

The state does not give specific numbers when there are fewer than five cases to protect patient privacy and does not identify exactly where a case occurred in a ZIP code that spans multiple counties.
There are no patients hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Centre County, according to the DOH.
