The Pennsylvania House of Representatives 77th Legislative District race was uncontested, which gave incumbent Democrat Scott Conklin the victory Tuesday night.
Conklin has held the seat since 2006 when he defeated Republican Barbara Spencer for the House vacancy created by Lynn Herman’s retirement.
It is the first time in Conklin’s political career that he has not had an opponent in a general election. He said he feels grateful to have been uncontested, but he assured constituents that he will continue to be a strong voice for his district.
“I feel fortunate to represent a diverse district,” Conklin said. “I have several different cultures, which means I can’t become complacent. I have to and I will continue to work hard to represent everyone’s best interests.”
