Alcohol attributed to another pedestrian-vehicle crash

Alcohol is being blamed for a pedestrian-vehicle crash which resulted in a trip to the hospital.

According to State College police, Katelyn Farnen, 20, of Westport, Conn., was walking along East Garner Street near the intersection of East Beaver Avenue with friends when she stepped into the road to cross the street. She was struck by a vehicle driven by Joshua Spickler, 41, of Lewistown.

Spickler was unable to stop in time, police said, striking Farnen, causing her to fall to the ground and hit her head. Friends assisted her and EMS was called.

Farnen allegedly admitted to drinking, which impaired her judgment, police said. She was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center.
