There is one community Bob Selfridge wants his business to be headquartered in — Philipsburg.

It’s where he founded the company on his front porch about a decade ago, and he said there’s no better place to call “home.”

“First and foremost, central Pennsylvania is home to me and to the majority of the developers who have helped build this company — so Philipsburg is home for TMMData,” Selfridge said. “Our human resources are our greatest asset as a company, and we’ve found that the best and the brightest are right here in our backyard. We are growing because of the talent and work ethic our Pa.-based engineers and client support staff provide to our clients across the globe.”

The community, he said, also has the benefit of lower overhead costs for resources like office space.

“We do face challenges as a high-tech organization in a rural area, but as high-speed internet access improves, we are increasingly able to do anything from anywhere, and Philipsburg is the place where we’re thriving,” Selfridge said. “We’d love to see more tech businesses call the Moshannon Valley home.”

TMMData recently moved its headquarters to the Moshannon Valley Enterprise Center at 200 Shady Lane, suite 100. The company, according to its blog, has joined 10 other companies at the center.

“The new location offers more space, larger work rooms, and expanded communal work areas that give TMMData the opportunity to grow not only our team, but our latest ideas, too,” a company release said. “With a number of options for our teams to come together and make data magic happen, the features of the new office reinforce and encourage our collaborative and interactive working style. Needless to say, we can’t wait to see the innovation that comes from being in this new space.”

The company, which provides data management solutions to other businesses, has been recognized for its growth, including a spot on Inc. Magazine’s 2015 and 2016 lists of fastest growing private companies in America. The company has 26 employees. Selfridge was also named 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year award by the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership.

The company is working on about 70 projects for clients that include Comcast, Shell, FedEx, T-Mobile, Expedia, Royal Caribbean and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
