Centre County schools score Isaac Awards

Altoona Community Theatre hosted its annual Isaac Awards over the weekend, and local schools cleaned up.

Twenty high schools from six counties participated in the Isaacs this year, according to a press release from ACT. It was split into two nights, and winners were selected in each category each night.

Centre County schools received the following awards on Sunday night:

Achievement in Design (winner): Elena Gomez, “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” State College Area High School

Achievement in Choreography (winner): Sydney Holt and McKenzie Moore, “Annie,” Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School

Actress in a Leading Role (winner): Anna Yates as Natalie Haller, “All Shook Up,” Bellefonte Area High School

Actress in a Leading Role (runner up): Lauren McKee as Rosemary, “How to Succeed,” State College Area High School

Actor in a Leading Role (winner): Justin Shondeck as J. Pierrepont Finch, “How to Succeed,” State College Area High School

Actor in a Leading Role (runner up): Jordan Emely as Chad, “All Shook Up,” Bellefonte Area High School

Actress in a Supporting Role (winner): Morgan Higgins as Smitty, “How to Succeed,” State College Area High School

Actor in a Supporting Role (winner): Eli Yurman as Bud Frump, “How to Succeed,” State College Area High School

Best Ensemble (winner): Office Boys in “The Company Way,” “How to Succeed,” State College Area High School

Best Ensemble (runner up): Boylan Sisters, “Annie,” Philipsburg-Osceola High School

Best Featured Dance or Dancer (winner): “Coffee Break,” “How to Succeed,” State College Area High School

Best Musical Number (winner): “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” “All Shook Up,” Bellefonte Area High School

Best Musical Number (runner up): “Brotherhood of Man,” “How to Succeed,” State College Area High School

Best Production (winner): “All Shook Up,” Bellefonte Area High School

Best Production (runner up): “How to Succeed,” State College Area High School
