If you don’t break a sweat walking up and down the hills of Bellefonte, a new boot camp fitness studio has you covered.
Victory Sports and Fitness in College Township carried out its first expansion Thursday with a grand opening of a new facility at 102 E. Bishop St. in Bellefonte. There is a slight name change for the company’s second location — it is called Empower Boot Camp Fitness.
“There really aren’t many other people doing this (in Bellefonte),” co-owner Rob Oshinskie said. “We felt like there was a big opportunity here after we talked to people in the area and asked them if this is the type of thing they’d be looking for, and we got a really good response.”
The studio will run on 30-minute to hourlong classes, taking place in the morning and afternoon. The classes will specialize in cardio, bodyweight workouts and improving strength and flexibility.
“The classes will accommodate a large spectrum of fitness levels,” Oshinskie said. “You could come in and be unfit and our coaches will adapt. Or you can come in at a really high level of fitness, and they can adjust the programs accordingly.”
Class sizes will begin at two to 10 people, though Oshinskie expects some class to grow to about 20 people.
The studio will not be accessible outside of classes. Interested participants can call at 206-9338, message the business on Facebook or use the Mind Body app to sign up for classes.
Oshinskie said that Power Fitness will also be a part of the Miller Center in September when staff will train athletes in Lewisburg.
