Lock Haven man dies after being hit by 2 vehicles

A Lock Haven man died when he was hit by two vehicles on Wednesday.

Robert L. Brunner, 50, was standing or walking at 4:45 a.m. on U.S. Route 220’s roadway near West 4th Street in Woodward Township, Lycoming County. A Subaru Forester driven by Janice Mitcheltree, 77, of Trout Run, was traveling southbound on the road and hit Brunner, according to police. A Chrysler Town and Country driven by Stacia Stutzman, 47, of Ralston, had been following Mitcheltree and also hit Brunner.

Susquehanna EMS responded to the scene, but Brunner was pronounced dead, according to state police at Montoursville. Mitcheltree and Stutzman were not injured.

PennLive reported Brunner had been a patient Wednesday at Williamsport Regional Medical Center, but left to walk home. Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. told PennLive it is unknown why he decided to walk about 25 miles back to Lock Haven.

State police have asked that anyone with information about the fatal crash call 570-368-5700.
