Nittany Lions permanently dismiss Bell

Chris Bell's Penn State career is officially over.

The athletic department issued a release Tuesday afternoon that stated the troubled junior wide receiver, who police say threatened a teammate with a knife at a campus dining hall Monday evening, is off the team. Bell had been serving an indefinite suspension for off-field and academic issues and not practicing with the Nittany Lions.

"Chris Bell, who had been previously suspended from team activities, is permanently removed from the team and will not be re-considered to be a part of the team in the future," read the statement.
