UNION TOWNSHIP — A confidential tip to state police led to the discovery of an operational clandestine laboratory in a wooded area of Union Township Tuesday.
State police say they found what appeared to be an active lab with the purpose of making methamphetamine about .2 miles north of Apple Street.
The Pennsylvania State police Clandestine Laboratory Disposal Team found the lab to be fully operational and said methamphetamine was probably produce at the site within the last several days.
The team seized the evidence and disposed of hazardous materials at the site.

An investigation is continuing. Authorities did not find any one at the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Philipsburg at 342-3370 and ask for the Vice unit. All information will be considered confidential.
